THE BIBLIOHOLIC IS OUT. will return soon.
So you’re wondering how this works. I promise it’ll be pretty painless. Just tell me the last five books you read. Name and author, that’s it.
It doesn’t matter if you liked them or didn’t like them – it simply matters that you read them. Incompletes don’t count. You CAN include what you’re currently reading, though. In fact, you should.
Leave a comment with your books and I’ll get back to you about it ASAP. Then let me know what you think! Hell, send me a review and I’ll post it, if you’d like! Most importantly, I hope you enjoy.
Turn of Mind – Alice LaPlante
Iphigenia in Forest Hills – Janet Malcolm
Pulphead – John Jeremiah Sullivan
Lucille – Ludovic Debeurme
The Other Walk – Sven Birkerts
I think you might like this more than I did:
BLOODROOT – Amy Greene
Teju Cole, OPEN CITY
Alan Hollinghurst, THE LINE OF BEAUTY
Simon Mawer, THE GLASS ROOM
Christopher Boucher, HOW TO KEEP YOUR VOLKSWAGEN ALIVE
Gerald Murnane, THE PLAINS
on the off-chance you haven’t already read this:
MIDDLESEX – Jeffrey Eugenides
(if you have already read it, JUSTINE – Lawrence Durrell is my backup choice for you)
Any Human Heart – William Boyd
Hard-Boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World – Haruki Murakami
The Third Reich – Roberto Bolaño
The Winners – Julio Cortázar
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy – John LeCarré
BIG MACHINE – Victor LaValle
what’d you think of the Bolano?
I liked the Bolaño – it was my first time reading him so not sure how it compares to some of his bigger works – got Savage Detectives in my TBR stack and looking forward to it.
Thanks for the recommendation!
